How about that ice this morning? Completely white when we first turned up this morning and it was cold! But once the sun arrived it turned out to be a fantastic day with some very fast times over the two courses. Trail conditions could not have been better - it was that awesome combination of fast rolling and heaps of grip. Gaz Sullivan who does a lot of the NDuro races said it was the best XC race he had raced for years. It certainly looked like everyone had a great time out there.
For the long course Mike Northcott showed he is in good form for his overseas racing season coming in the US (good luck Mike!) and Nic Leary took out the fastest female (also good luck with your overseas racing coming up as well!). In the short course Dominic Furkert was the fastest maleand Monique Avery was the fastest female.

Alan from Fotoengineers was also out in the forest taking some great snaps as well. Looks like there were lots of simles on the course! You can view the photos by clicking on this link:
Congratulations to everyone who took part. We hope to see you all back at Race 3 on 15 August. Let's hope conditions then are just as good as they were today.
